Well-fed children learn; healthy mothers raise them
Poultry farming, nutrition education, maternal and child health services and daily meals that make school possible.
Our health and nutrition programme keeps children well enough to learn.
At ICWAC we engage in poultry farming, which contributes to improving the nutrition of the children by providing eggs — a good source of protein and other important nutrients. Our gardens supply vegetables and staples through the year.
The programme also covers:
- Maternal and child health services
- Nutrition education and support for caregivers
- HIV/AIDS awareness and support
- Basic healthcare and medical check-ups for children in our care
- Two nutritious meals a day for students we support
